Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 contains a duty to manage and assess asbestos in non-domestic premises. In order to carry out this duty it is necessary to determine whether asbestos is present in the building and this can be done by means of a survey.
|
| As a UKAS accredited inspection body Strategic Risk Management (Asbestos) Ltd is able to undertake the following types of asbestos survey in accordance with the requirements of ISO17020 and HSG 264: |
- Management Survey – standard survey used to locate ACMs (as far as is reasonably practicable) which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy.
- Refurbishment and Demolition Survey – needed before any refurbishment or demolition is carried out. Used to locate all ACMs (as far as is reasonably practicable) where refurbishment is taking place or in the whole building in the case of demolition.
- Asbestos Re-inspections - as your partner in compliance, we can help you manage your on-going Asbestos Management Plan by conducting asbestos re-inspection surveys to monitor and report on the condition of any ACMs previously identified
|
| All our surveyors are specialists in their field. They are qualified as a minimum to BOHS P402 and all work is overseen by our in-house Technical Manager. Following the survey they will be able to provide professional recommendations on any ACMs identified to assist you in the implementation of your asbestos management plan. |
| We are able to offer web based access to your asbestos survey records via our SRManager system. Our dedicated asbestos module can provide an at a glance view of the asbestos risks in your properties whilst interactive site maps and photographic evidence provide a floor by floor, room by room asbestos locator. This tool is invaluable when briefing and commissioning contractors or other persons likely to disturb asbestos. |
